Wine Description

The nose is full of orange blossom, grapefruit and crisp green apple. With ideal acidity, and outstanding mineral composition, this wine packs a powerful punch, lingers wonderfully on the palate, and can be enjoyed with an array of cuisine, but is perfect with any bigger seafood dishes.

Facing the south, the hillside of the Trittenheimer Apotheke on the winding Mosel River receives the best of what the Mosel terroir can offer. As a Riesling Spätlese, the grapes were harvested at a later time allowing them to develop more natural sugars. However, unlike most other Spätlese, this one was built out dry, making it an extraordinary full-bodied food pairing wine.

Cuisine: Lobster, king crab, diver scallops, shellfish, grilled, broiled or baked fish, poultry, veal, and wild game with hearty sauce.

The Blees-Ferber Estate

The Blees-Ferber estate is located on a hill above Leiwen in the Bernkastel area, showcasing a beautiful view of the Mosel and the surrounding vineyards. Since winemaker Stefan Blees has taken over production of this family-owned estate in the mid-nineties, he has successfully increased the quality of the estate’s wines year over year.
