Wine Description

This Großes Gewächs (First Growth) is concentrated on the nose with captivating notes of apricot and minerality. Playful fruit structure redolent with apricot, peach, mango and passion fruit that is characterized by the alluvial soil and silicate subsoil of the site.

Located in the city of Worms, the vineyard surrounds the Liebfrauenstift, an old Capuchian monastery. The site is surrounded by monastery walls, which protect it from wind. Individual grape clusters were selected for harvest. After harvest, the crush was left standing for 24 hrs, the must was then racked. Fermentation was controlled and took place in stainless steel and 600 liter barrels.

Cuisine: Lobster, crayfish, oily fish, fried calamari, pork chops, roasted chicken, lamb, mild curries.

A rich tapestry of peach, citrus and vanilla custard flavors. It's well-balanced, lacy in texture and ends on a mouthwatering citrus note. Drink now through 2017. – BS
