Wine Description

This Riesling Spätlese has a structured body that is brazen with minerals, tangerine and acidity. Loaded with green apple and pear, it is has an elegant display of a full citrus nose with outstanding slate and shale composition. A Mosel wine with an organic spirit and charming finesse!

The Thanisch & Son winery is situated on the steep banks of the Mosel in the idyllic village of Lieser across the river from Bernkastel. The family-owned vineyard has produced wine since 1648.

Cuisine: Lobster, king crab, shellfish, grilled, broiled or baked fish, poultry, veal, and wild game with hearty sauce.

Wine Spectator: 90 pts

An off-dry style that's poised between fruit and mineral and spice flavors. Verging on medium-bodied, with peach, honey and stone notes that linger nicely. Drink now through 2018. – BS
