Forest Marie is the marriage - literally, of two Champagne grower families, one from Trigny and one from Ecueil. Grape-growing in the family stretches back to 1746, and now they fashion wine harvested from over 80 individual plots in Premier Cru sites.
The grapes for this cuvee are harvested from the Premier (1er) Cru Champagne vineyard of Ecueil, where the patrion saint is Saint Crispin. Picked and vinified plot-by-plot, no detail is overlooked. Although a blend of several vintages, this bottling of the Cuvee St. Crespin is 100% Pinot Noir,so Blanc de Noirs, primarily from the generous 2009 vintage. The vin clair, or clear wine, is vinified in neutral oak, lending a richness and vinuousity to the finished product.
A powerful Champagne, the Cuvee St. Crespin is a wine best suited to rich dishes, like pork tenderloin, Coq au Vin, and even braised beef.
