The German Riesling Sekt Pairing will show you two different examples of sparkling wines made from Germany's most iconic grape.
This Pairing will show you the quality level difference between two different methods of making sparkling wines. We will show you an everyday drinking sparkler made in the affordable “Charmat Method,” next to one made Traditional Methode Champenoise, like those made famous in the Champagne region of France.
This Pairing includes the following wines:
Wine 1: NV Over the Moon Riesling Cuvée Sekt is made by the Charmat Method. It shows fresh cut citrus, crushed apples and stone fruit with notes of lemon curd, white flowers on a bright bubbly texture.
Wine 2: NV Barth Riesling trocken (dry) Sekt is a more serious hand made wine with a secondary fermentation happening in the bottle. It has a rich mousse and fine bubbles with flavors of white peaches, orange zest, candied apples and pineapple with layers of lemon verbena, marzipan, honeysuckle and flint.
