Colored and intense, ruby red with garnet reflections, this Rosso di Montalcino has a finely intense nose with fragrant aromas of small, fresh fruits. On the palate, it is delicately dry with aromatic, long-lasting flavors.
100% Sangiovese Grosso and 100% Estate fruit. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place in stainless steel. The wine is then matured for a minimum of seven months in large French oak barrels. Rosso di Montalcino is known as the little brother to Brunello di Montalcino. This style tends to be more ready to drink than its big brother Brunello who benefits from aging. Rosso also is a little lighter in body due its shorter oak aging.
Pairings: Mocali pairs well with tomato based sauces, lamb, roasted chicken, and firm cheeses!
