A beautiful Riesling Auslese from Weingut Barth. This wine is laced with tropical fruits, honeysuckle and ripe stone fruits. Drink today or decades from now! An unbelievable style, this late harvest Auslese is loaded with mango, papaya and pineapple. It has a rich, structured body and can be aged for 25+ years!
It comes packaged in a 750ml bottle, making it a great value for a dessert wine. It comes with a glass Vino Lok glass closure instead of a cork!
Pairing: Ethnic cuisine (Thai, Indian...) and spicy dishes, also strong blue or hard cheeses. Simple desserts like fruit based pastries, gelato & ice cream with fresh berries and cream based desserts work as well.
The Barth estate is located in famous Hattenheim in Germany's Rheingau wine region. The Rheingau is one of world's smallest and finest wine-growing regions and perhaps it can be viewed as a small natural wonder, due to its remarkable location along the banks of the Rhine River.
Weingut Barth overlooks the Rhine and was founded in 1948 and is run to day by senior winemaker Norbert Barth and his son-in-law Mark Barth.

The global reputation of the German white wine community has its roots in the Rheingau, home to both the wine-making estate of Schloss Johannisberg and the village of Hochheim. Both names have been adapted around the world as synonyms for Riesling (such as Johannisberg Riesling and Hock).
The Rheingau is one of the most geographically specific wine regions on the planet with the Rhine (Rhein) River running on the south side and the Taunus mountains along the north. It is an area best known for its small viticultural sites, amazing landscape and perfect microclimate for the delicate Riesling and Pinot Noir grape varietals.
