This wine has the distinctive Sauvignon Blanc bouquet of clean, herb-tinged fruit and a touch of flinty, smoky complexity that sets Sancerre apart from any other Sauvignon Blanc wine.
The flavors are fresh, crisp and focused with succulent melon, fig and citrus fruit notes, backed by the crisp edge of acidity that lends a true note of distinction.
Laporte is a certified organic producer and the wine here is made in a very traditional, natural way, employing organic methods and always ensuring a sense of purity and excellence.
Pairing: Shellfish, grilled trout, goat cheese, tarragon and avocados.
Domaine Laporte is an important property in Pouilly-Fumé and Sancerre in the Loire Valley. It was purchased in 1985 by Jean-Marie Bourgeois, a young, dynamic Sancerre winegrower, who extensively renovated the cellars and replanted the vineyards. Together, the Domaines Laporte and Bourgeois represent one of the largest producers of Sancerre. Jean-Marie Bourgeois travels extensively and has even purchased a property in Marlborough, New Zealand.
