The Huxelrebe Auslese is full bodied and very rich with tropical fruits (lychee, pineapple, papaya). Medium straw gold in color and with a bit of botrytis cinerea, the full tropical fruits are matched well with soft acidity. This Auslese is loaded with the taste of the tropics from pineapple and mango to maracuja. With a soft nose of botrytis, this wine is very big & flavorful. A great value dessert wine! Wine is a way of life for the Hinkel family, who has been in the business of cultivating grapes for 300 years. Beginning with the ecological cultivation of the grapes through yield reductions in spring, the thinning of the vines in late summer and the fermenting process in the cellar, quality control is fully in the hands of Roland Hinkel.
Pairings: : Indulgent cuisine like foie gras and paté, along with strong cheeses, creamy desserts or stand alone!
Wine is a way of life for the Hinkel family, who has been in the business of cultivating grapes for 300 years. The knowledge about wine has been passed on from generation to generation within the family, but it is important to the current winemaker, Dr. Roland Hinkel, to merge old traditions with new methods. The Dr. Hinkel estate grows grapes on an area of 27 hectares in the community of Framersheim in Rheinhessen, producing approximately 300,000 bottles a year.

Rheinhessen is known as Germany’s largest wine producing region. Nestled between rolling hills, bordered to the west by the Nahe River and to the northeast by the Rhine, it is a very fertile land. Unlike along the Rhine or the Mosel, many other crops are harvested here in addition to the many vineyards that cover approximately 20% of the area. The better vineyard sites are in a concentrated area along the steep west bank of the Rhine, known as the Rheinterrasse (Rhine terrace), and towards the south near the town of Worms and around the village of Westhofen.
