Heidi Schrock is an Austrian Maverick; this rose blend of Lagrein, Teroldogo, Petite Sirah, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon demonstrate her deftness in blending and disregard for the status-quo. Nonetheless, she has a traditionalist streak that has garnered her accolades and respect. Schrock is one of few producers returning to production of Ausbruch, the dessert-wine specialty of the Rust region that surrounds Austria's Neueseedlersee. In 2003, she became one of just a few women named winemaker of the year by Falstaff, Austria's quality-driven wine writing periodical.
This dry rose deeply colored and complexly flavorful! Juicy, crunchy, zippy. Pink grapefruit, cranberry, and tart red plum dominate the palate with a wave of rocky minerality. A fun wine for salamis, rustic cheeses, poultry, and fall days!
