Pale salmon in the glass with pink reflections. Tajin spiced watermelon jumps right out of the glass and onto the nose. This wine is complimented by fresh strawberries, cherry blossom, hibiscus, green almond, and tomato leaf. This multi-layered Zweigelt rose is spicy with a too hot to trot mentality. On the palate the wine is fresh, crisp, slightly creamy with a touch of honey blossom.
This wine comes from a selection of single vineyard sites across Traisental. With vines averaging 10 to 50 years in age. The best physiologically ripe grapes are selected for this Zweigelt rosé. The grapes are crushed and kept on the skins for 2 hours. The wine is fermented in stainless steel spending 3 months on the lees.
Pairings: This wine pairs beautifully with backyard BBQ chicken, a homemade charcuterie board featuring cured meats paired with salty, crumbly cheeses, and farm-to-table trout with a late summer heirloom tomato salad.
