Rich notions of ripe Comice pear and yellow apple govern nose and palate. The Pinot Gris roundness is well balanced by ripe, fresh acidity on a medium body with lots of mouthfeel. An almost weighty wine.
The Kracher winery is a historic family estate founded in the early part of the 20th century by Alois Kracher. They are historically known for producing high quality dessert wines and have achieved the accolade of winemaker of the year 7 times. They winery is currently run by the Gerhard Kracher, the grandson of its founder. The estate is located in the Seewinkel region within the Burgenland, a small 20 kilometer region that hugs the shores of Lake Neusiedl. This region is situated "zwischen den seen" or in between the lakes. The terrain is also riddled with shallow lakes and a dense fog creating unique characteristics in the wines.
