An adventurous red made with 100% nebbiolo grown in the Valle de Guadalupe in sandy clay soil. The color is inky plum / purple to the rim and the nose which starts slowly, begins to roar after several minutes, offering up scents of smoke, blackberries, cherries, licorice, and violets. On the palate, this enormous wine shows fabulous ripeness, a huge unctuous texture, enormous body, and a colossal 60 seconds finish. Aging potential 20 years.
Pairings: Slow roasted pork or beef (such as a ragu), or cured meats like prosciutto are ideal.
