From what is arguably the most renowned, or highest rated Cru of Beaujolais, Moulin-A-Vent, comes this single-vineyard bottling from Biodynamic producer Paul Janin. While traditional Beaujolais has always been intensely fruity with sweet cherry flavors, innovative producers have been cultivating and producing more sophisticated wines which are drier, darker and more elegant. Paul Janin makes a richer wine than the Nouveau the region built its fame upon. From the historic Clos du Tremblay vineyard, this wine has length and structure, with dark, plummy fruit and enough tannin to tackle gamier meats. A fun but serious wine.
Pairings: Roasted duck, turkey, or pork, mushrooms, Brie and camembert cheeses.
