Deep purple with shades of ruby. This wine showcases bold and complex notes of blackberry chutney, ripe black plum, mocha, rich dark cedar, cocoa nibs, vanilla seed, and baking spices. On the palate this wine displays velvety tannins steeped in ripe black tree fruits with a rounded finish.
This 2015 Peju Cabernet Sauvignon is composed of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, and 7% Merlot. The wine undergoes 18 months of oak aging in French and American Oak, 45% new. With the Drought taking place in California, the 2015 vintage resulted in low yields. This was beneficial for the final product allowing for a high concentration of flavor in each grape thus contributing to more depth and complexity in the wine.
