In the glass the wine displays a purple to red core with rusty rim. On the nose, spicy aromas lift off, with hints of red berries, cherries, black pepper and balsamic herbs leading to a juicy and smooth palate. On the palate the wine is rich, intense, and well structured, with a long finish
The wine is a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Molinara. The grapes are sourced from the southwest facing Ca' del Laito vineyard which lies at 380-400m in elevation. Clay based soils. The vineyard is hand harvested. Fermented with selected yeast for ten days. Then refermented on the skins of Amarone for another ten days. Finally, the wine is aged for 17 months in 700L Austrian oak barrels.
