Caballero is a rustic Lujan de Cuyo Malbec with a label that evokes the look and feel of real leather, wrapped around a cigar box. It is
blended from the fruit of the three distinct exposures of Lujan de Cuyo. Notes of decadent fruit of black currant, black cherry, and huckleberry pie, with pretty aromatics and balancing freshness.
Situated along the northern banks of the Mendoza river, this sub-region of Mendoza is chalk full of surprises. The elevation reaches 3300 feet, causing intense solar exposure during the day and cool evenings that slows the growing process in the evenings. It's unique position between the Andes mountains and the Lunlunta hills causes a rain shadow effect resulting in desert like conditions. All of these elements help to produce an elegant and approachable ready to drink malbec.
Pairings: Prime steak, roasted venison, seared rack of lamb, hard cheese, braised beef short ribs.
